Model Standards

Now that site operators are insisting on housing the elderly vulnerable residents, it is time they were placed under a duty of care for these people.

Two items have recently been brought to our attention

1. Street Lighting

Present Model Standards just state...

     "roads & footpaths should be suitably lit"

there needs to be added...

     "during the hours of darkness and at the site owners expense"

2. Icy Roads

Site Owners should have a duty of care towards their elderly residents by ensuring icy/snowbound roads are suitably treated at site owners cost.

A fall to an elderly person could be fatal and don't let us hear the cry "they should stay inside"

They have a DUTY OF CARE under the LIABILITY ACT 1957 & OCCUPIERS LIABILITY ACT 1984
